There are 750-1000 verses in the Quran inspiring us to study nature and many of them point to various parts or phenomena in our universe and how their study will lead us to discover signs or miracles of Allah. In other words Allah wants us to study nature and invariably predicts that we will be able to find truths and this will suggest to us Allah’s creativity.
But, there are only two things about which Allah suggests that our knowledge will be limited. These are:
And they ask you concerning the soul. Say, ‘The soul is by the command of my Lord; and of the knowledge thereof you have been given but a little.’ (Al Quran 17:85)
No soul knows what joy is kept hidden in store for them as a reward for what they have done. (Al Quran 32:17)
So, the two areas of limited human knowledge are consciousness and our promised Afterlife and the two in some sense go hand in hand in continuity of human soul.
More than 1400 years ago the Quran could have prophesied about so many possible things and would have been demonstrated to be wrong in light of scientific progress of the last few centuries. For example, the Quran could have said that you will never know why the sun and the moon are bright and how far these are and would have proven to be wrong. But, this was not to be.
But, when it comes to human consciousness, now there are hundreds if not thousands of videos in YouTube talking about how it is a mystery. I have put one on the top of the post and many more you will find in the articles below.
