Introduction

Surah Saba (Chapter 34 of the Qur’an) opens with powerful verses (34:1-4) that praise God’s absolute sovereignty and knowledge, asserting that nothing in the heavens or earth – not even a speck of dust – escapes His awareness thequran.love. These verses insist that all things are recorded in a “clear Record,” underscoring the theme of accountability for human deeds. Later in the chapter, verse 22 emphasizes God’s unique dominion by denying that anyone besides Him has even an atom’s weight of power in the cosmos islamawakened.com. Finally, verses 48-49 declare the triumph of truth, with the Prophet commanded to say: “My Lord hurls the Truth… He has full knowledge of all that is unseen”, and “Truth has come and falsehood is powerless” islamawakened.com. In this commentary, we will explore these verses from theological, philosophical, and scientific perspectives. We will examine classical Sunni and Sufi interpretations of God’s omniscience and omnipresence, and consider modern scientific ideas – especially the possibility of extra dimensions – as metaphors that might help us imagine how every action could be recorded and observed for ultimate accountability. The goal is an academic yet accessible discussion showing how scripture, spirituality, and science converge on the notion that reality has more layers than meet the eye.

  2. […] Quran 54:52–55 (Surah Al-Qamar) highlights two profound ideas: (1) every deed, big or small, is meticulously recorded, and (2) the righteous will dwell in Paradise, “in a seat of truth, in the presence of an All-Powerful Sovereign.” These verses weave together themes of divine omniscience, moral accountability, and the afterlife. In this commentary, we explore their implications from theological, scientific, and philosophical perspectives, arguing that our reality inherently records information and that this hints at dimensions beyond the familiar space-time. Such a multidisciplinary approach will show how scripture, science, and philosophy converge to suggest that reality has more layers than meet the eye thequran.love. […]
