Here are Quranic verses that explicitly link creation with the term الْحَقّ (al-Ḥaqq), emphasizing that Allah created the universe with purpose, truth, and divine wisdom:

1. Surah Al-Anʿām (6:73)

“And He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in truth…”
Theme: Creation is not arbitrary but rooted in Allah’s absolute reality and intentional design.

2. Surah Yūnus (10:5)

“He is the One Who made the sun a radiant source and the moon a reflected light, with precisely ordained phases, so that you may know the number of years and calculation [of time]. Allah did not create this except in truth…”
Theme: Celestial bodies reflect a divine system of order and precision (قَدَر).

3. Surah Al-Ḥijr (15:85)

“We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except in truth…”
Theme: Creation’s purpose negates existential futility (بَاطِل).

4. Surah Al-Anbiyāʾ (21:16)

“We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything in between for sport.”
Linked to 21:18: بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ (“Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood…”).
Theme: Creation is serious and meaningful, reflecting Allah’s truth overpowering falsehood.

5. Surah Al-Dukhān (44:38–39)

“We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything in between for sport. We created them only in truth…”
Theme: Creation’s seriousness contrasts with human frivolity.

6. Surah Al-Aḥqāf (46:3)

“We created the heavens and the earth and everything between them in truth and for a specified term…”
Theme: Creation is both purposeful and temporally bounded.

7. Surah Al-Muʾminūn (23:115–116)

“Did you think We created you without purpose, and that you would not be returned to Us? So exalted is Allah, the True King…”
Theme: Human creation is tied to accountability, affirming Allah as al-Ḥaqq (the Ultimate Reality).

8. Surah Al-Ṭūr (52:35–36)

“Were they created by nothing, or are they themselves the creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In truth, they have no certainty.”
Linked to 52:42–43: Reiteration of Allah as al-Ḥaqq versus human delusions.

Common Themes

  1. Purposeful Design: Creation is intentional, not accidental (e.g., 44:38–39).
  2. Divine Justice: The universe reflects Allah’s truth (الْحَقّ), contrasting with falsehood (بَاطِل) (21:18).
  3. Accountability: Creation’s purpose includes human responsibility (23:115).
  4. Cosmic Order: The heavens and earth operate by divine laws (10:5).

Key Takeaway

The Quran repeatedly ties creation to الْحَقّ to affirm that the universe is a meaningful, structured reality pointing to Allah’s wisdom. As Ibn ʿĀshūr notes in his tafsīr: “Creation in truth means it is free from contradiction, futility, or disorder—a proof of the Creator’s perfection.” This framework challenges materialism and nihilism, asserting that existence is a divine “sign” (آيَة) for reflection.

In other articles I have translated the word الْحَقّ when used in relation to creation as mathematics:
