Epigraph:

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Allah is the First and the Last, and the Manifest and the Hidden, and He knows all things full well. (Al Quran 57:3)

بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, and when He decrees something, He says only, ‘Be,’ and it is. (Al Quran 2:117)

Have they been created from nothing, or are they their own creators? Have they created the heavens and the earth? In truth they put no faith in anything. (Al Quran 52:35-36)

The Muslim Times’ Chief Editor’s comment

Ladies and gentlemen, if you listen to the above video more than a few times and reflect on the comments of each interviewee, you will find this as an excellent and contemporary commentary of the above verses of the holy Quran.

The first interviewee in the above video is Tim Maudlin, who is a very smart and articulate philosopher. But, here he is committing the fallacy of calling the laws of physics as necessary, but a little reflection and study of all the other opinions out there convince us that such a claim cannot be true and the laws cannot necessarily exist merely on their own.

I agree with everything that David Bentley Hart said, who was the last interviewee. He is a devout Christian, but, here he is merely successfully arguing for the eternal God of the Abrahamic faiths. I find no reason to argue with amazing success, after three other interviewees laid ground work for the grand finale conclusion.

After Hart the moderator, Robert Lawrence Kuhn, tries to muddle the issues for 2-3 minutes. But, shall we take it as unnecessary froth and end the documentary as Hart concludes it.
