In the above video the well known philosopher John Searle claims that just like humans have made artificial hearts some day we should be able to make genuine human consciousness. I do not believe that will ever happen based on the Quranic verse quoted as epigraph. So far the history of science has been on my side. A good understanding of human consciousness or even free will has evaded humanity, despite the last five glorious centuries of scientific enterprise.
Nevertheless, we cannot have it both ways. We cannot have our cake and eat it too. If we claim that All Knowing God has declared some thing in the Quran then it has to be true.
If humans genuinely recreate human consciousness then it will imply that they fully understand consciousness and as such it will be refuting the above verse.
