Here are the Quranic verses where الْحَقُّ (al-Ḥaqq) is explicitly used as a name or attribute of Allah, emphasizing His absolute reality, sovereignty, and truth:

8. Surah Yūnus (10:32)
فَذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ
“That is Allah, your Lord, the Truth.”
Context: Rejects falsehood and calls to worship the One True God.
Key Themes:
- Allah as Ultimate Reality: الْحَقُّ negates all illusions, emphasizing His unchanging, absolute truth.
- Contrast with Falsehood: Idols, materialism, and human delusions are بَاطِل (falsehood) compared to Allah’s eternal truth.
- Sovereignty and Kingship: الْحَقُّ is often paired with الْمَلِكُ (The King) to assert divine authority.
Conclusion
These verses anchor Islamic theology in the concept of الْحَقُّ—Allah as the singular, unchanging Reality. As Ibn Taymiyyah wrote: “Allah is al-Ḥaqq in His essence, attributes, and actions; everything besides Him is contingent upon His will.” This term encapsulates the Quranic worldview: truth emanates from Allah alone, and all existence depends on Him.
Meditating on this attribute and these verses is likely to open doorway to other theological, philosophical and scientific truths.
