Epigraph

He is the Mighty, the Forgiving; Who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You will not see any flaw in what the Lord of Mercy creates. Look again! Can you see any flaw? Look again! And again! Your sight will turn back to you, weak and defeated. (Al Quran 67:2-4)

He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (Al Quran 59:24)

Anthony Flew

By Zia H Shah MD

Antony Garrard Newton Flew (/fluː/; 11 February 1923 – 8 April 2010)[1] is my hero for he has provided me a lot in the form of a book, There is a God, which he wrote late in life and threw all the atheists in the world in some degree of chaos. Flew said in December 2004:[55]

I have been denounced by my fellow unbelievers for stupidity, betrayal, senility and everything you can think of and none of them have read a word that I have ever written.

Flew was an English philosopher. Belonging to the analytic and evidentialist schools of thought, Flew worked on the philosophy of religion. During the course of his career he taught philosophy at the universities of OxfordAberdeenKeele, and Reading in the United Kingdom, and at York University in Toronto, Canada.

He expressed belief in God of Einstein, Spinoza and Aristotle and in other words, God the Creator. He denied God of Revelation of Christianity and Islam. He did not have enough time to genuinely argue Islam versus Christianity and had very little exposure to Islam. But, he has provided me with a grand opening in the introduction section of his book to tackle God of Revelation also and I quote:

Since this is a book about why I changed my mind about the existence of God, an obvious question would be what I believed before the ‘change’ and why. The first three chapters seek to answer this question, and the last seven chapters describe my discovery of the Divine. In the preparation of the last seven chapters, I was greatly helped by discussions with Professor Richard Swinburne and Professor Brian Leftow, the former and current occupants of the Nolloth Chair at Oxford.

Richard Swinburne and Brian Leftow are very well known philosophers and very well published and I can have Islam versus Christianity debate with them in my writings. Here is my first post on a subject where I differ with them: Famous Christian Philosophers about Trinity.

This will be an ongoing work, but in the meantime, just a few things to establish God the Creator: Anthony Flew’s book and some of my prior work:
